Exam Countdown — Privacy Policy

Exam Countdown is a home-screen exam-countdown app for students, published by BotSquash. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

1. Data We Collect

We collect none. Exam Countdown itself does not collect any personal data. The free version shows ads from Unity Ads, which collects some device data under its own policy (see below).

• The app has no account or login.
• We run no servers. There is nowhere for us to send your data, and we don't.
• The exams, reminder times, notes, and settings you enter are stored only on your own device. They never leave your phone unless you choose to export a backup yourself.
• The app has no analytics SDK of its own.

Ads (free version only)

The free version shows a small banner ad from Unity Ads (Unity Technologies) on the countdown list. No ads are shown the first time you use the app. The Unity SDK may collect your advertising ID, device and network information, approximate location derived from your IP address, and ad interaction data, and may share it with its ad partners, for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. This data goes to Unity, not to us. See Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

• Personalised ads are off until you turn them on in Settings, Personalised ads. When off, Unity shows non-personalised ads only.
• You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings (Privacy, Ads).
• Exam Countdown Pro has no ads: for Pro users the ad SDK is not started at all.

2. Purchases (Exam Countdown Pro)

The optional one-time Pro unlock is sold through Google Play Billing. If you buy it:

• The payment is handled entirely by Google Play, not by us. We never see or store your card details, billing address, or any payment information.
• The app asks Google Play whether this device owns the Pro unlock and remembers the yes/no answer on your device. That answer is the only purchase-related thing the app stores, and it is not sent anywhere.
• Google's own handling of the transaction is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

Because Google Play Billing is bundled in the app, the app requests the Internet permission. It is used by Google's billing and in-app review components and, in the free version, by Unity Ads. Your exams, notes and reminders never leave your device.

4. Backups & Sharing

• Export backup copies your countdowns to your device clipboard so you can save them yourself. What you do with that text is up to you.
• The Share countdown feature creates an image on your device and hands it to Android's share sheet only when you tap Share and choose an app. Exam Countdown itself does not upload or send the image anywhere.

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app means you accept the current policy.
