Short answer
The 2027 AP Exam schedule
College Board's AP Central page lists every 2027 exam by day and session. Session 1 is usually the morning and Session 2 the afternoon. For most schools, including all schools in the lower 48 states, Hawaii and Washington, D.C., College Board says exams still begin at 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. local time.

How many days until each week
As of October 24, 2026:
- Week 1 starts, May 3, 2027: 191 days, about 27 weeks
- Week 2 starts, May 10, 2027: 198 days, about 28 weeks
- Last regular exams, May 14, 2027: 202 days
- Late testing starts, May 17, 2027: 205 days
The count for your own exams depends on your subjects. A student taking only Calculus BC and Statistics has a week more than someone sitting Biology on the first Monday.
Counts down to each exam on a home-screen widget, with reminders on the days and times you choose.
Get it on Google PlayExam Countdown is an Android app that keeps the days left to each exam on your home screen. The home-screen widget is free in three sizes. AP dates are not among the app's ready-made exam dates, which cover exams in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, so you add each AP exam by typing in its date. You can set reminders for exam day or a chosen number of days before, at a time you pick. The free version holds 5 countdowns, which covers most AP loads; Pro removes ads and allows unlimited countdowns.
Deadlines that come before the exams
Some AP courses have work due before exam week. College Board lists these 2027 AP Digital Portfolio deadlines, all at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time:
- AP Computer Science Principles: April 30, 2027, for the Create performance task components
- AP Seminar and AP Research: April 30, 2027, for performance tasks
- AP World Languages and Cultures: April 30, 2027, for the Personalized Project Reference (new for 2027)
- AP Art and Design: May 7, 2027, for the three portfolio components
If you take one of these courses, the real deadline is April 30, not the exam date. That is 188 days from October 24, 2026. It is worth adding as its own countdown so it does not get lost behind the exam.
Late testing
College Board says late-testing dates are available if you cannot test during the first two weeks of May, or if two of your exams are scheduled at the same time. The 2027 late-testing schedule is May 17 to 21, 2027. Your AP coordinator orders late-testing exams, so talk to them early if you see a clash in the tables above. Two exams in the same session on the same day, for example Biology and Italian Language and Culture on May 3, is exactly the case late testing is for.
Start times outside the mainland US
From 2027, College Board has changed AP Exam start times in some locations to stop secure exam content from being shared across time zones. If you are outside the lower 48 states, Hawaii and Washington, D.C., do not assume 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. College Board has a start time lookup tool on AP Central for checking your school's times, and your AP coordinator is responsible for telling you when and where to report. College Board also states that early testing, or testing at times other than those it publishes, is not permitted.
Turning the countdown into a plan
About 27 weeks sounds like a long runway, but it includes school breaks, semester finals and regular coursework. A few ways to use the number:
- Count backwards from your last AP exam, not your first. Every subject needs time, not only the earliest one.
- Mark any April 30 deadline as its own date if you take Computer Science Principles, Seminar, Research or a World Language.
- Plan regular, spaced study across the months rather than one big push in April. Our guide on how many hours a day you should revise explains why spacing matters.
- Build a weekly plan that rotates subjects. See how to make a revision timetable.
