Nothing, ourselves. Drive Log has no analytics of our own, no crash reporting, no account system, and no backend. We do not operate a server that receives your information. The ad provider described under "Ads (free version only)" collects some data directly.
All of this stays in the app's private storage on your phone:
None of it is uploaded anywhere, and none of it is ever shared with the ad provider. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. Because there is no cloud copy, we recommend using Backup to file in Settings to keep your own copy.
The app may ask for location permission during setup (and when you add another driver profile). It then takes a single low-accuracy location reading, which is saved on your device with that driver profile. It is used only to calculate local sunrise and sunset times so a drive can be split into day and night hours, which several states require. This happens entirely on your device using an offline astronomical calculation.
Your location is never transmitted, never shared with Unity or anyone else, not recorded for each drive, not stored as a history, and not tracked in the background. If you decline the permission, the app falls back to your state's capital coordinates and works normally.
Drive Log shows an ongoing notification while a drive is being timed, so the timer keeps running accurately if you put your phone away. It is used for nothing else - no marketing or promotional notifications are sent.
When you export a PDF log or a backup file, that file is written to a location you choose and shared only through the app you pick. We never receive a copy.
From version 1.1.0 the free version of Drive Log shows one small banner ad from Unity Ads (Unity Technologies), on the History screen and on the home screen while no drive is running. No ad is ever shown while a drive is being timed, and ads are never shown in full screen. Drive Log Pro owners see no ads; once Google Play has confirmed your purchase, the ad SDK is not started.
In the free version, the Unity SDK may collect and process:
Unity may share this data with its ad partners, for advertising, measurement, analytics and fraud prevention. This data goes to Unity, not to us. Your drives, drive logs, driver names, supervisor names, notes and the location the app uses for the day/night split are never sent to Unity. See Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
Drive Log's own features work fully offline. The app uses the internet for two things: loading the Unity Ads banner in the free version (see above), and the Google Play Billing flow for the Drive Log Pro purchase. No drive or log data is sent as part of either.
Drive Log contains no analytics or tracking of our own. The only third-party SDK that collects data is Unity Ads in the free version, as described above.
If you buy Drive Log Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The app stores only a local flag recording that the purchase was made.
Drive Log is a general-audience app intended for learner drivers together with their parents or guardians; it is not directed at children. We collect no personal information ourselves. In the free version, Unity Ads collects the data described under "Ads (free version only)"; personalised ads stay off unless they are turned on in Settings. Drive logs and location are never shared with Unity.
Deleting a drive removes it from the app, and uninstalling Drive Log removes all of its data from your device. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. For data held by Unity, reset your advertising ID as described above or contact Unity through its privacy policy.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a revised date above.
